Having a personal slogan as a hashtag is generally a dumb and bad thing. If said slogan features a number taking the place of a letter, it’s really bad. Worse still is using that hashtag to make a joke about a flood currently affecting a major city. And that’s what Colin Kaepernick did today on Instagram. I’m not even sure what his joke is supposed to mean. That he caused the city to flood? Seems like a very supervillain-y thing to boast about, if true.
Anyway, people got mad at Kaep and he just responded by not deleting the tweet linking to the offending Instagram post, telling the world “prayers up” then posting a picture of him shirtless. Very astute at damage control, this man. UPDATE: Kaepernick wrote a subsequent tweet apologizing for the Instagram post.
